Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) has launched the largest containership ever built in China the 20,000 teu, COSCO SHIPPING TAURUS
- The giant vessel delivered to China Cosco Shipping Corporation Limited (Cosco Shipping) on Friday boasts a length
of 400 metres and a width of 58.6 metres, and is equipped for 1,000 teu of refrigerated capacity.
- State-owned Cosco Shipping ordered a total of eleven 20,000 teu containerships, of which three are being built by SWS,
subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
- The 20,000-teu ship is designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Company and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation’s
(CSIC) number 80
